ျမန္မာႏိုင္ငံမွာ ရွားရွားပါးပါး ျပဳလုပ္ထားတဲ့ ျပည္တြင္း ထင္းသံုးစြဲမႈ ပမာဏကို ေလ့လာႏိုင္ဖို႕တင္ျပလိုက္ပါတယ္ မူရင္း စာသားမ်ားဟာ အဂၤလိပ္လိုပဲျဖစ္လို႕ မူရင္းအတိုင္းတင္ျပပါတယ္။ စာဖတ္ ပရိသတ္မ်ားမွ ဘာသာျပန္ေဖၚျပေပးေစလိုပါက ေနာက္ပိုင္းတြင္ အခ်ိန္ယူ၍ တင္ျပေပးသြားပါ့မယ္။

One of the main causes for deforestation in Dry Zone is higher dependency and demand on the woody biomass as a main source of household energy in rural area while there is a lack of alternative affordable energy supply. By promoting the use of energy efficient cooking stove, it would not only save the woody biomass at household level but also accelerate the momentum of community participation with greater awareness and conscientiousness on environmental conservation initiatives in project villages. Before the project commenced, a baseline survey was conducted in three townships of Magwe Region, namely, Aung Lan, Thayet and Sinbaung We in 2010 and it covered 924 households. Local residents used five different types of stove, viz. open stove, A1 stove, Pathein charcoal stove, hand made and electric stove. The survey results pointed out that the average firewood consumption (ton) per year per household was not less than 1.5 tons and the cost of utilizing open stove (the least energy efficient stove) per month per household was 4,332 kyats.
