Burma promised to release 2,000 political prisoners
The military regime in Burma held last year a highly criticized elections, but afterwards the generals pulled back and gave the country a civilian government and a parliament that acts in a kind way.
Some of the former military leaders have been eager advocates of a new, democratic development in the country.
State Secretary Espen Barth Eide met Friday National Assembly President U Shwe Mann in Burma's capital of Naw Pyi Taw.
U Shwe Mann was a former number three in the junta, but now wants democratic reforms welcome.
